Come aboard our dynamic inpatient rehabilitation service, where we embrace person-centred care and work as a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team alongside our nursing and medical kaimahi.

For this Allied health Educator- Rehabilitation role, you will be part of a growing specialist rehabilitation team, working across the rehabilitation continuum.

This role will primarily be based in the Specialist Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit at Kenepuru Hospital, providing an evidence based structured and effective education programme to support the learning and development needs across the allied health professionals working in Rehabilitation.

It will support the continuous professional development of allied health staff, prioritising patient safety, quality care, and competent practice.This role will also have responsibility for providing clinical leadership within the wider rehabilitation team to assist in developing the clinical capability of others; and the opportunity to drive quality improvements.You don
  • t need to be an expert in all allied professions but you must demonstrate a thirst to upskill and learn; and to acknowledge the value that each profession adds to a person
  • s rehabilitation journey.
You will have the ability to educate using an IPP model, understand and embed the key aspects of holistic rehabilitation care into an education programme and be skilled in adult learning approaches.
You will have access to our other designated roles with the Rehabilitation service; and profession specific professional leaders to support and grow your knowledge and skills relevant to the role.This is a unique opportunity to join our service at a pivotal moment.

  • ll be based at Kenepuru hospital
  • a sub-acute setting that provides specialist Health of Older Persons care, surgical services and specialist rehabilitation.The inpatient rehabilitation multi-disciplinary team is a close-knit team of allied health, nursing and medical colleagues.

We are a team that loves to learn and upskill, and we encourage service-improvements that help the patients and the team.

This roles sit within the wider Kenepuru Inpatient Allied Health team which consists of over 35 Allied Health staff from Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech Language Therapy, Psychology, Activities Coordinator, Physiotherapy, Social Work, and our Allied Health Assistants.

They would also work alongside two established designated Rehabilitation roles; an advanced Occupational Therapist and Allied Health Consultant and two newly recruited to roles- Rehabilitation Clinical Nurse Specialist and Advanced Allied Health Practitioner Rehabilitation.We work together closely to provide a service of high standard to patients and their families and whānau.
