Charge Nurse Manager - Psychiatry Consult Liaison and Emergency Department Mental HealthPermanent opportunityFull-time role (40 hours/week)Based in two sites: North Shore and Waitakere HospitalAbout UsThe Consult Liaison and Emergency Department (ED) Psychiatry team is a dedicated group of Psychiatrists and Clinical Nurse Specialists who work with whai ora attending the hospitals' ED and Assessment & Diagnostic Unit (ADU), and those in wards who are affected by mental health.
The Liaison Psychiatry team will conduct assessments and provide advise on treatment and appropriate follow-up care for the patients with mental health concerns. This team is an integral part of the wider Specialised Mental Health and Addictions division.About the role and about youThis challenging and rewarding position requires a professional qualification and experience in mental health with demonstrated operational leadership skills.
Therefore we are looking for someone to provide effective team leadership that will support staff in ensuring high quality clinical care is provided to the whai ora.We’re seeking to recruit a Charge Nurse Manager who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident and passionate about working in our service.
You will need to be experienced in coaching and mentoring staff and supporting creative and innovative solutions for service delivery. You will also be able to demonstrate resilience, problem-solving, be able to think on your feet and create a positive working environment despite daily challenges.
Candidates will be well organised, flexible and relate well to others whilst operating within the relevant evidence-base, demonstrating a strengths focus, promoting equity and being focused on tangata whai i te ora and whānau outcomes.You will report to Michelle Kooiman the Interim Operations Manager of our West Adult Mental Health Services.
