About the Role
We are looking for a part time Health Care Assistant to support our dedicated team of Children's Community Nurse Specialists who provide community based health care in the West Auckland area to tamariki with complex medical needs and their whanau.
This role is responsible for co-ordinating and managing clinical supplies to be held in stock and used by the nurses, as well as co-ordinating with whanau and supply companies to have clinical supplies and continence products sent direct from the supplier to the home.While direct face-to-face patient contact is not necessarily required in this role, there may be times when home visiting to support clinical cares may be required but this would be under the guidance of the Team Leader, Clinical Nurse Advisor and/or nursing team.
This role is based predominantly at our Waitakere Hospital site, with occasional visits to our North team to connect and offer support as needed, as well as occasional community visits as directed by the nursing team.
About Us
Our Children's Community Nursing Team are part of the wider multi-disciplinary Community Child Health Team based at Waitakere Hospital. We have a close-knit team who are passionate about the care of tamariki and work in partnership with whanau to support their ability to independently manage care needs of a sick and/or medically fragile child in the home environment.
We maintain close professional relationships with our north based team as well as other teams/services across Child Health.

About you
The successful applicant will need to be:
Energetic, fun and a team playerHighly self-motivated and have the ability to work independently
Organised, solution focused with a methodical/process oriented mind
Excellent computer skills
Able to adapt and be flexible with changing needs in the team
We are seeking someone who would revel in the challenge of reviewing and revising our clinical supplies room to improve its functionality for the team and bring about efficiencies in care. So if sorting and arranging is what you do best, we want to hear from you.
An understanding of the health care system and clinical supplies would be an advantage in this role. A full driver's license and good command of the English language is essential.
