Duty Manager / Assistant Manager
Koji, a modern Asian restaurant on Majoribanks Street - our menu combines classic Asian flavours, with a strong focus on the best New Zealand produce. We make as much as possible from scratch, smoking, baking, fermenting, pickling, etc., then create big flavours in surprising ways!
We are on the lookout for a high energy, focused, and dedicated individual who wants to become part of an exciting hospitality company. The focus is on having fun, while creating world class experiences in a professional environment.
The role will begin as a senior waitstaff position and transition into a duty or assistant manager role once fully trained. You will be given ongoing training and mentorship in the role, covering the day-to-day operations of managing a busy restaurant and team.The role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week at our venue in Mount Victoria, Wellington.

- Starting rate of $26-$30 per hour.
In the role you will be working alongside the Restaurant Manager in a leadership position.
Your duties will include the following areas:
- assisting in training, motivating, and supporting junior staff
- hosting a busy service
- management of a team during services
- managing a busy section
- opening/closing procedures, cash ups
- working towards targets and weekly goals
You will be highly motivated by the company vision and be excited by the opportunity to nurture and develop a team of extraordinary people. You will have at least 3 years experience in a similar role or have proven skills and knowledge from working in high-end dining.
