This is a unique opportunity toprovide psychiatric expertise in a holistic paediatric environment, workingalongside a committed multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes for tamarikiand their whānau.
- Child Health, you will provide psychiatric assessment andintervention for children and adolescents who are patients of the PaediatricMedical Service.
- Contribute to training and education for Child Healthstaff, supporting earlier recognition and intervention for psychosocialconcerns.- Play an active role in service development, clinicalguideline design, and quality improvement initiatives.About the Team/Service/LocationOur Child Health service provides integrated medical,psychological, and allied health care for tamariki and rangatahi acrossCanterbury.
You will be part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary teamof Paediatricians, Psychologists, Nurses, and Allied Health staff who workclosely with CAF and community services to provide holistic, family-centredcare.About youAs a Consultant Child Psychiatrist, you will bring:- Vocational registration in Child Psychiatry with theMedical Council of New Zealand.- Fellowship or affiliation with the Royal Australian andNew Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).- Proven experience working with children, young people, andfamilies in child psychiatry, ideally including paediatric consult liaison settings.- A strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and itsapplication in health care.- Excellent leadership, teaching, and communication skillswith the ability to work across multidisciplinary and cross-cultural settings.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
