Location: Auckland, New Zealand (office based)Employment type: Full-time, permanent

Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 per year (depending on experience)

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Accounts Specialist to join our Finance Team in Auckland. This position is responsible for processing internal and recruitment payrolls, preparing client invoicing, and supporting financial reporting and compliance.
You’ll work closely with our Finance Manager and branch teams to ensure all payroll and accounting processes run smoothly, accurately, and on time.
Key Responsibilities- Process weekly payrolls accurately and in line with company and legislative requirements
- Maintain employee payroll records, including onboarding and terminations
- Apply ACC, PAYE, KiwiSaver, and Holidays Act requirements correctly
- Prepare and issue invoices for on-hire hours, permanent placements, and temp-to-perm conversions
- Complete reconciliations (bank, credit card, and PAYE) and manage accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare weekly margin and monthly financial reports
- Support finance-related projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing in the recruitment sector
- Strong understanding of PAYE, KiwiSaver, and the Holidays Act
- Experience using Xero, PayHero, Tracker and other accounting or recruitment software
- Sound knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reconciliation. Including margin reports.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
