Skilled Chinese Cuisine Chef Wanted

A well-established Chinese restaurant in Auckland is seeking experienced Chinese Chefs to join our professional and dynamic kitchen team. This is a full-time, permanent position (minimum 30 hours per week) with an hourly rate of $30–$35, depending on qualifications and experience.
We are looking for a highly skilled culinary professional with strong expertise in authentic Chinese cuisine. The successful candidate will be capable of leading and coordinating kitchen operations in a busy environment, ensuring consistent food quality, efficiency, and presentation standards.
Key Requirements- At least one year proven experience in a commercial kitchen specialising in Chinese cuisine, or a relevant qualification such as a Diploma in Culinary Arts or Cookery.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to supervise and support kitchen staff.
- Ability to contribute to menu development and recipe innovation.
- Capable of working efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
- Plan, prepare, and cook a wide range of authentic Chinese dishes to a high standard.
- Develop and implement new menu items in line with customer expectations and market trends.
- Supervise and coordinate food preparation to ensure quality, consistency, and timely service.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, presentation, and food safety procedures.
- Monitor stock levels, manage ingredient storage, and ensure freshness and proper rotation.
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Work closely with management to maintain cost control and operational efficiency.
