To achieve this, Te Tari Pūreke delivers four core functions: effectively implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe possession and lawful use of firearms.

About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Recruitment Advisor

  • Te Tari Pūreke.
Your role will involve managing the end-to-end recruitment at a senior level for a wide range of roles within Te Tari Pūreke.
You'll enjoy the variety involved in learning about our different workgroups, and in building relationships
  • no two days will be the same!

Having sound task and time management skills, you will work across position types centric to the Te Tari Pūreke.

Managing the process from advertising, to coordinating interview panels, references, and overseeing vetting and a variety of pre-employment steps, you will be trained and supported as you learn our unique process framework.
The team is based across both Auckland and Wellington.

Experience in recruitment is essential (min 5 years)
  • internal or external.

Experience working in a complex regulatory environment will be highly regarded.

Sound understanding of recruitment processes and the end-to-end methodologies involved in hiring.
High levels of initiative and the confidence to solve problems and make decisions in real time.
A great eye for detail, a compliance mindset, supported by sound computing/ database skills.
The proven ability to build rapport with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and cultures Resilience and the ability to flex with regular change will be beneficial.
Previous experience in mentoring and leading teams is highly desirable.

The Ministry of Justice is responsible for policy advice and system oversight and NZ Police is responsible for law enforcement function.
