across the Auckland and Waikato regions. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to
oversee workforce deployment, compliance, and site coordination across multiple active
infrastructure projects.
This is a senior, hands-on role requiring a combination of leadership, technical capability, andoperational oversight, particularly within rail corridor environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee daily deployment of labour crews across multiple project sites
- Supervise works within live or controlled rail corridor environments
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety and rail safety requirements
- Liaise directly with principal contractors and project managers
- Coordinate workforce planning, rostering, and site coverage
- Monitor productivity and performance across active projects
- Identify and manage operational and compliance risks
- Maintain site documentation and reporting systems
- Provide technical guidance and support to crews
- Assist with recruitment, mentoring, and development of site personnel
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil infrastructure
- Proven experience working on rail infrastructure projects (essential)
- Experience supervising crews in rail corridor environments
- Class 5 Heavy Vehicle Licence
- Competency operating civil plant (excavator, roller or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of NZ Health & Safety and compliance requirements
- Experience coordinating multi-site operations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Category 5 Rail Medical
- Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice criminal record check
- Compliance with rail corridor access and safety requirements
