About the Role
TamaAriki Ora - Starship Maori Leadership Office, helps make up the Senior Leadership Team of Starship Child Health, and is at the forefront of transforming child health outcomes through the integration of indigenous science, cultural leadership, and biomedical excellence.We are committed to embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everything we do, dismantling structural inequities, and ensuring equitable health outcomes for our tamariki and mokopuna throughout Aotearoa.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to provide strategic, operational, and business leadership supporting our senior Maori leadership team and office. This pivotal role requires standout expertise when it comes to managing and coordinating operational support, production planning, and business functions that advance the vision and mission of Starship Child Health through the functions of TamaAriki Ora.
This is an opportunity to help influence the future of child health in Aotearoa by delivering efficient, high-quality, and culturally grounded services - integrating cultural intelligence, critical analysis, and business acumen to embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Maori health perspectives into Starship Child Health operations, while driving innovation and system-wide transformation to achieve equity and excellence for our tamariki and mokopuna.
About you
We are seeking a candidate with a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and demonstrated cultural intelligence, alongside experience in operational and business leadership within health or related sectors. You will have proven skills in leading equitable recruitment and HR practices, excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement, and a strategic, proactive approach to risk and resource management.Most importantly, you will be passionate about advancing Maori health and embedding indigenous perspectives within health systems to support lasting, meaningful change.
You will excel at translating strategy into actionable plans while managing day-to-day operations and driving service development. Strong communication and collaboration abilities will enable you to work effectively across diverse teams and sub-services.Your broad expertise in human resources, contract and financial management, project management, and continuous improvement will support operational excellence and innovation.
