Technician Helper

Who we are: We’re an Auckland-based construction company, who are in new build and renovation services.

This role will see you assist our technicians and electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair work, resulting in greater levels of customer satisfaction and improved operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have understanding of electrical systems and be able to follow instructions with attention to detail.

• Assist electricians in installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment
• Install lighting, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers.
• Carry tools and materials to worksites
• Install sound systems, security systems and voice and data systems.
• Measure and cut wires and conduit
• Perform basic electrical calculations
• Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues
• Consult with electrical technicians, line installers and repairers, or maintenance engineer when performing installations.
• Rewire homes and businesses.
• Assist in home inspections.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment
• Document work performed and communicate progress to team members
• Follow safety procedures and protocols

• Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in electrical work or related field required
• Familiarity with electrical tools and materials needed
• Completion of an electrician apprentice program preferred
• Good math skills and ability to read and interpret technical documents
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• This role will require working in both indoor and outdoor settings.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders and working in confined spaces and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.

• Experience in working effectively to demanding deadlines, and ability to manage a range of tasks at any one time and prioritize own workload.
