Join The People Inc team as an HR Consultant working across the SME space

Are you passionate about delivering strategic HR initiatives and cultivating positive workplace cultures? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Consultant to join our team. This pivotal role involves providing expert HR consultancy to client organisations, offering both tactical and strategic advice across a variety of areas including employee relations, performance management, and organisational development.

You will also collaborate with fellow team members and contribute to the continued success of our wider business group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic HR projects including workforce planning, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Advise clients on employment law, compliance, and HR best practice.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, training programmes, and development plans.
  • Conduct organisational assessments, job evaluation, and psychometric profiling.
  • Support clients through restructures, redundancies, and disciplinary processes.
  • Assist leadership teams in managing change effectively.
  • Deliver and develop training sessions and workshops, including DISC and performance development.
  • Support with recruitment activities.
  • Promote awareness of the services within the People Inc Group and maximise client engagement.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or in a comparable strategic HR role.
  • Strong understanding of NZ employment legislation and HR compliance.
  • Excellent project management and client advisory skills.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring leadership teams.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, mediation, and handling complex employee relations matters.
  • Confident in delivering training sessions and public speaking.
  • Familiarity with senior level recruiting.
  • Capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will come to a warm desk, but there are sales involved with existing clients- cross selling and upselling.
  • Ability to travel to clients site 1-2 times per quarter in the South Island.
