Builders Specialist Labourers

Are you a motivated, reliable worker looking for a hands-on role with variety, responsibility, and long-term opportunities? We’re seeking Builders Specialist Labourers to join our growing team, supporting yard and facility operations across Auckland and nationwide projects.

This is a fast-paced, physical role suited to people who enjoy practical work, industrial environments, and working as part of a supportive, safety-focused team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with general building, site preparation, and maintenance tasks, including preparing foundations and supporting structural work
  • Support operations across construction sites and recycling yards, including offloading, sorting, and processing metals into correct grades
  • Carry out cable stripping, baling, shearing, and oxy-cutting as required
  • Operate hand tools, light equipment, and forklifts (full training provided)
  • Assist with asbestos removal operations (training provided)
  • Pack, prepare, and maintain tools and equipment for daily site use
  • Keep work areas clean, tidy, and hazard-free
  • Work safely on site, including public areas, industrial zones, and recycling yards, following all health, safety, and environmental protocols
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service where needed
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to support the wider operation
Must-Haves
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour in industrial and outdoor environments
  • Good communication skills
  • Commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Willingness to learn, upskill, and adapt in an industrial setting
  • Valid photo ID and reliable transport
Nice to Have (Not Essential)
  • Experience in recycling, resource recovery, or industrial environments
  • Previous labouring or yard operations experience
  • Experience in asbestos work or a valid asbestos certificate (Class A or B)
  • NZ Driver’s Licence
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures
Key Terms & Conditions of Employment
  • Pay Rate: $26.95 per hour (minimum guaranteed)
  • Hours of Work: Minimum of 30 hours per week, up to a maximum of 60 hours per week (variable, depending on project needs)
  • Estimated Weekly Earnings: $808.50 (30 hours) to $1,617 ($60 hours) before tax
  • Type of Role: Full-time, ongoing employment with potential for permanent placement
  • Work Locations: Multiple sites across New Zealand, based in Auckland
  • Additional Requirements: Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
