About the Role
  • Kōrero mō te tūrangaThis role reports to the Team Leader, Forestry Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) Operations in Te Uru Rākau
  • New Zealand Forest Service at the Ministry for Primary Industries.Back-filling for Parental Leave this role will best suit a proactive and motivated candidate with good analytical skills and sound judgement who has an interest in the ETS.The core responsibilities for the role are:Being a technical specialist in the ETS for forestry: undertaking analysis and providing adviceLiaising directly with forestry consultants, forest owners and inventory providersCase manage a variety of applications to support forestry in the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS)Provide coaching and mentoring to junior operations analysts and other teams where appropriateDrafting memorandums, briefings, and other documentsAssisting with the development of Ministerial correspondence and Official Information Act requestsProviding technical advice for the improvement and creation of operational policy, process, and procedure as well as forms and templates About You
  • MōuTo be successful in this role you will ideally have:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAn enquiring mind and a strong voice to challenge thingsAbility to learn and apply legislation in an operational contextAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people and work in a collaborative manner to succeedAn understanding of the public sector and the machinery of government, including interaction with decision makers and stakeholders would be advantageousKnowledge of the forestry aspects of the ETS and carbon accounting is advantageous About the Team
