Assistant Manager-Subway (South Auckland)

An Assistant Manager ensures the accurate balancing of the shift and is involved in the preparation of employee rosters and employee supervision. This position also ensures customer needs are met in an efficient and friendly manner by both themselves and their team members.

the applicant should have at least NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification, or one year of relevant experience. the pay would be from $25 to $30 P/H.

Customer Services:
  • Friendly, prompt and efficient customer service
  • Process text and fax orders in an efficient and timely manner
  • Prepare all orders as per company procedures
  • Process all Point of Sale transactions in an accurate and timely manner
  • Respond to customer enquiries and deal with difficult and irate customers
  • Provide information on products and up-sell on Promotions and Specials
  • Train new Sandwich Artist, and provide ongoing training to existing Sandwich Artist as directed by the
Store Merchandising:
  • Receive deliveries and check in stock
  • Daily bread counts
  • Food preparation including bread and cookie baking
  • Complete weekly and monthly stock takes
  • Ensure stock control is maintained and rotated
  • Evaluates competition by visiting competing stores; gathering information such as style, quality, and
prices of competitive merchandise.
  • Adhere to company standards and assist Store Manager to increase sales and minimize costs including

food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.

Food Safety:
  • Comply with Food Code of Practice
  • Ensure food is prepared and storage and preparation areas are maintained according to Health & Safety
and Audit standards
  • Carry out temperature checks and record as per company process
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules as per cleaning chart
Security & Loss Prevention:
  • Take precautions to prevent theft of, and damage to, the stock or store
  • Follow company security procedures, and secure cash and stock from loss or theft
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activities
  • Document all equipment malfunctions and follow-up action
Cashier Operations:
  • Count end of shift monies and drop in safe
  • Completing administration accurately
  • Investigate and report on variances
Occupational Health & Safety:
  • Follow safety procedures to prevent injury
  • Provide a safe work environment for employees and customers
  • Ensure all accidents are reported correctly
Personal Qualities :
  • Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectation and by
conducting performance reviews.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs. Prepare schedules and ensure
that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts
  • Work as a team member
  • Attend training courses as directed by the Store Manager
Management:
  • Ensure all duties are carried out effectively on all shifts
  • Resolve any end of shift reconciliation discrepancies
  • Participate in employee counseling sessions and Investigation Meetings
  • Assist Restaurant Manager in invoicing, ordering and daily banking
  • Responsible for performance and development management of employees
  • Ongoing training of employees
  • Ensure all records are kept up to date
