We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team and help deliver an exceptional dining experience every day.
About the Role
As a Chef at Tamahere Country Club Care Centre, you will play an important role in supporting our daily kitchen operations and ensuring our residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals that meet a variety of dietary needs.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking high-quality meals following set menus and dietary requirements
- Supporting the Executive Chef in delivering consistently high standards of service
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and compliance practices are maintained
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-run kitchen environment
- Creating a warm and positive atmosphere for residents, visitors, and staff

What We’re Looking For
You will succeed in this role if you are:- A qualified and experienced Chef
- Knowledgeable in food safety, hygiene, and special dietary requirements
- Reliable, organised, and able to work well independently and within a team
- Calm under pressure and able to manage your time effectively
- Warm, approachable, and committed to providing outstanding service to residents
- Experience in aged care, healthcare, or large-scale catering is an advantage, but not essential.
- Relevant chef qualification or trade training
- Strong understanding of food safety standards (NZQA 167/168 beneficial)
- Previous experience in restaurant, café, catering, or care environments
- A genuine passion for delivering high-quality food and hospitality
