We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook a diverse, high-quality café menu (breakfast, lunch & cabinet items)
Maintain excellent food presentation and consistency at all times
Ensure full compliance with Food Control Plan and council food safety standards
Manage stock, ordering, and inventory efficiently
Control kitchen costs, minimise wastage, and support profitability
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations
Follow instructions and maintain high standards under pressure
RequirementsProven experience as a Chef in a café or restaurant environment
Pastry experience is an advantage (not essential)
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
Strong organisational and time management skills
Positive attitude and team-focused mindset
Good understanding of food safety (recent certification preferred)
Experience with menu costing, budgeting, and basic computer skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of your section
Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Cafe open 7 days, Shift hours between 6am to 3pm.Must be able to work weekends, long weekends and busy Christ-mas season.
No split shift or evening shift.
Full time position available for minimum 40hrs per week.
