Dunedin City Motors, a leading automotive dealership in Otago, is seeking an experienced and proactive individual to take on a dynamic dual role as Human Resources and Health and Safety Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about both creating a safe workplace and supporting a thriving team culture.

About the Role

In this combined position, you'll play a key role in shaping the employee experience and ensuring health and safety compliance across all areas of our business. You’ll work closely with department managers, staff, and leadership to maintain a positive, proactive, and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Health and Safety:
  • Maintain and improve our health and safety management systems
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
  • Lead health and safety training and emergency response planning
  • Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing across the organisation
Human Resources:
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee development
  • Provide support and guidance on HR policies and employment law
  • Lead performance management processes and employee engagement initiatives
  • Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with all legal requirements
What You’ll Bring:
  • Proven experience in both health and safety and human resource management
  • Sound knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation and employment law
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach
  • Relevant qualifications in H&S and/or HR (or working toward them)
