Bulk Transport Dispatcher / Operations Supervisor

About the Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Transport Dispatcher to join our Christchurch team. A rare opportunity for an organised, proactive person to be at the heart of our daily operations.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys coordinating people and resources, proactive problem solving and takes pride in delivering safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and dispatch daily transport operations, (Up to 40 units running per day)
- Optimising routes and vehicle utilisation
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams
- Proactively manage disruptions such as delays, breakdowns, or last-minute job changes
- Accurately update and track job information across dispatch systems
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to provide timely updates and resolve issues
- Ensure all job details, instructions, and priorities are clearly communicated to drivers
- Monitor job progress throughout the day and reallocate resources where required
- Complete end-of-day reconciliation, ensuring all jobs are closed and recorded correctly
- Identify and escalate operational issues or inefficiencies
- Work collaboratively with operations, workshop, and admin teams to support smooth daily workflows
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:- Previous dispatching experience in transport, logistics, or civil operations
- Working knowledge of HPMV fleet capabilities and constraints.
- Communicate clearly and build trust with your team
- Stay calm under pressure and make sound decisions
- Enjoy improving systems, processes, and workflows
- Are comfortable with technology and operational software
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- The ability to occasionally work after hours or rostered weekends
- Previous knowledge / use of Eroad systems
- Previous knowledge / use of Electronic Dispatching systems
- Previous knowledge / use of Microsoft Excel
- Previous knowledge / use of Microsoft Outlook
- General computer knowledge
