Concrete Batcher / Slumper
The Company
Christchurch Read-Mix Concrete Ltd (CRMC) is a well-established company which has been operating in Canterbury for over 60 years and is now part of the H.W Richardson Group. The company is made up of four divisions which are concrete, aggregates, civil contracting and a workshop delivering mechanical and engineering services.
We are seeking a Concrete Batcher / Slumper for our Hornby Site. We would prefer experience with Command Batch software however training will be provided for the right candidate.
The key purpose of this role is to ensure the effective manufacture of quality concrete that meets engineering and customer specifications.
Reporting to the Concrete Operations Supervisor, this position requires close liaison with the Laboratory Technicians, Concrete Mixer Drivers, and a diverse range of customers. This role is key to ensuring the success of our daily production plan.
Key responsibilities will be:- Slump quality
- Accurate documentation
- Optimising plant efficiency
- Driver liaison
- Technical team liaison
- Ability to make concrete test cylinders if required
- Ensuring concrete meets quality standards
- Have a concrete manufacturing and processing background (preferred)
- Be mechanically minded
- Have a solid background in computerised systems
- Be able to demonstrate that product quality is paramount
- Be able to multitask under pressure
- Have meticulous attention to detail and a very high level of accuracy
- Have proven ability to work in a small team with a positive “can do” attitude
- Have experience with Command Batch software (preferred)
- Have sound knowledge of Concrete raw materials (preferred)
- Have good numeracy and computer literacy
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, with work on Saturday mornings as and when required. You need to be flexible to accommodate irregular work hours and start times.
