Chef de Partie
We are currently looking for 2 Chefs de Partie to join our busy kitchen team in the sunny Tasman region. These are full-time, permanent positions with a minimum of 30 hours per week available.
About the role:
- Full-time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
- Your ordinary hours of work will be 30 hours per week, normally worked between 5 am to 11 pm Mon-Sun, or at times agreed between us to meet the needs of the business up to a maximum of 60 hours per week.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a busy kitchen environment or a NZ Level 4 qualification in Cookery and 1 year of experience as a chef de partie in a busy kitchen environment
- An ability to communicate well.
- The ability to work supportively and positively in a big busy team.
- The ability to work under pressure.
- The ability to be self-managing and displaying Emotional Intelligence with all interactions.
- The ability to follow instructions from your Head Chef.

- Preparing, cooking & seasoning food to a high quality.
- Storing food at correct temperatures in accordance with our Food Control Plan.
- Being responsible for your own prep list and section.
- Budgeting and preparing food orders for own section.
- Reporting to senior chefs on all aspects of our kitchen operations.
- Planning menus with senior chefs
- Ensuring all in-house recipes and procedures are followed correctly.
- Ensuring food and safety policies and procedures are followed in own section
- Ensuring all deliveries are received in accordance with our FCP.
- Ensuring an efficient workflow is maintained at all times, and workstations cleaned in accordance with our operations manual.
- Ensuring all cooking staff is up to speed in own section
- Must be currently living in NZ, No overseas applicants will be considered for this role.
We are a busy, fast-paced cafe/restaurant and these are a permanent full-time roles and would suit someone wanting to join a new team in the most beautiful location in NZ.
