Chef de Partie

We are currently looking for 2 Chefs de Partie to join our busy kitchen team in the sunny Tasman region. These are full-time, permanent positions with a minimum of 30 hours per week available.

About the role:

  • Full-time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
  • Your ordinary hours of work will be 30 hours per week, normally worked between 5 am to 11 pm Mon-Sun, or at times agreed between us to meet the needs of the business up to a maximum of 60 hours per week.
Minimum requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a busy kitchen environment or a NZ Level 4 qualification in Cookery and 1 year of experience as a chef de partie in a busy kitchen environment
  • An ability to communicate well.
  • The ability to work supportively and positively in a big busy team.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • The ability to be self-managing and displaying Emotional Intelligence with all interactions.
  • The ability to follow instructions from your Head Chef.
  • A passion for great food.
  • A keenness to upskill.
  • A positive, enthusiastic demeanor.

Tasks Include:
  • Preparing, cooking & seasoning food to a high quality.
  • Storing food at correct temperatures in accordance with our Food Control Plan.
  • Being responsible for your own prep list and section.
  • Budgeting and preparing food orders for own section.
  • Reporting to senior chefs on all aspects of our kitchen operations.
  • Planning menus with senior chefs
  • Ensuring all in-house recipes and procedures are followed correctly.
  • Ensuring food and safety policies and procedures are followed in own section
  • Ensuring all deliveries are received in accordance with our FCP.
  • Ensuring an efficient workflow is maintained at all times, and workstations cleaned in accordance with our operations manual.
  • Ensuring all cooking staff is up to speed in own section
  • Must be currently living in NZ, No overseas applicants will be considered for this role.

We are a busy, fast-paced cafe/restaurant and these are a permanent full-time roles and would suit someone wanting to join a new team in the most beautiful location in NZ.
