About the Role

Our team of dynamic and motivated Dietitians based primarily at Christchurch Campus provides support to adult and paediatric patients across a range of clinical specialties including Critical Care, orthopaedics, otolaryngology, respiratory, neurology, general medical, surgical wards and outpatients.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an NZ Registered Dietitian with current Annual Practicing Certificate to join our team! We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive team player with a good clinical experience. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will receive regular supervision and opportunities for professional development and you will also be encouraged to develop your skills and professional interests.

This is a casual opportunity, hours of work are not guaranteed but you will need to have availability Monday - Friday 0800 -1630 to meet service delivery requirements.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing nutritional assessment and nutritional care plans to medical inpatients within the adult team across the medical and surgical wards
  • Providing nutritional education to patients within the service, enthusing and motivating real behaviour change
  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team and liaising with health providers

About You

Your skills will include:

  • A drive to ensure best health outcomes for people with nutrition related disorders
  • The ability to work within a team and contribute to the provision of quality care within the service
  • Being self-motivated, organised and enjoy a challenge
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships with patients and other people within the service
  • Demonstrated post-qualification experience, ideally with 3+ years of experience within a hospital setting
  • New Zealand Registered Dietitian with a current NZ Practising Certificate is essential
  • Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
