Location: Main Street, Cust, North CanterburyOpening: Early November 2025 (currently closed for renovations)

About Us:The 'Cust Country Pub' is a newly renovated, western country–themed gastro pub, restaurant and hotel. We’ve poured our heart, soul and community spirit into reviving the historic Old Cust Hotel built in 1883 – creating a true social hub for locals and visitors alike.
Our mission is simple: serve wholesome country food, celebrate our rural roots and give back to the community while making history together. We wish to make the 'Cust Country Pub' a destination venue!
The Opportunity: We’re searching for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen and put their mark on the food culture of Cust.This is a chance to:
- Build and shape the kitchen and menus from the ground up.
- Create a Kiwi / western country-inspired gastro pub offering that blends hearty tradition with modern flair.
- Bring your values, creativity and leadership to a place where the hype is already huge.
- Help us craft a legacy as we reopen this historic landmark in early November.

What We’re Looking For:- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous stepping up.
- Passion for creating wholesome, country-style meals with a gastro twist.
- Strong leadership and ability to build and inspire a kitchen team.
- Someone who thrives in a community-focused, fast-paced environment.
- Creativity, innovation and a flair for menu design.
- An accommodation option may be available on application.
