A direct boat ride out from Picton and located right on the Queen Charlotte Track, we're a popular stop for walkers, mountain bikers and local boaties.

We are seeking housekeeping supervisors to join us for next season at both our lodges, Punga Cove Resort and Furneaux Lodge. You will support lodge operations by actively working within the housekeeping team and as well as supporting the manager.

Although there are some administrative tasks, this isn’t a sit behind a desk kind of role.

Start date: Punga Cove- Mid/End of August 2026

Furneaux Lodge- Mid/End October 2026

The goal of this role is to help deliver an exceptional guest experience while supporting housekeeping standards
  • Team leadership — Work alongside the housekeeping team, guiding, mentoring, and supporting them to meet the performance standards set by Lodge Management.
  • Room quality — Ensure all rooms are cleaned and serviced to a high standard. Complete daily room checks and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Process improvement — Help lift our Qualmark score by maintaining strong housekeeping procedures and ensuring all SOPs are followed.
  • Staff development — Support the Housekeeping Manager in coaching the team, building skills, and ensuring staff can work confidently and independently.
  • Team communication — Build a positive customer focused culture. Address performance concerns when needed and run weekly or shift start meetings to keep everyone aligned.
About You- Ko nga wheako ou - skills and experience:
  • Previous housekeeping experience- minimum 2 years
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Communicates confidently in English and excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional knowledge of HK payroll and time allocations for 1 bedroom and 2-bedroom accommodation and a 4-star Qualmark standard.
  • Assist and lead the Housekeeping Team when the manager is having time off
  • Work and live in a remote location. Due to our remote location, applicants must live onsite.
  • Already has the right to live and work in New Zealand (no sponsorship available)

Couples are most welcome to apply - if your partner has hospitality experience then we would love to hear from them also. Due to room configuration, the accommodation is not suitable for families.
