**The Role | Mo tenei turanga mahi**

This role oversees a six
  • bed Residential Recovery Service for older adults with existing mental health challenges.
Using established clinical and recovery frameworks, you'll ensure quality, compliance, and meaningful outcomes.
While advertised externally as
*Clinical Team Leader*, the role is known internally as

*Team Coach*.

You will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of community support workers, embedding occupation-focused, recovery-oriented practice across the service, while working alongside health and community partners to ensure seamless, connected support for older adults and their whanau.

**This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm, with participation in a shared after-hours on-call roster.**

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching, and supporting staff, including recruitment, professional development, and performance management.
  • Building meaningful partnerships within the service and across primary, secondary, and community care
  • Acting as an exemplary Tangata Tiriti partner, promoting equity and cultural responsiveness
  • Fostering a positive team culture where people feel valued, supported, and engaged
  • Promoting connection, inclusion, and independence for older adults living with mental health challenges and their whanau
  • Reporting to the Service and Relationship Manager, receiving coaching and support

**Mou | You**

You're an experienced Occupational Therapist with leadership experience and strong interest in mental health and older adult wellbeing. You bring an occupation-focused lens and enjoy enabling teams to deliver holistic, recovery-oriented support.

You'll also have:

  • Current registration and Annual Practicing Certificate as an Occupational Therapist with the OTBNZ
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary clinical teams, ideally within an NGO or community-based setting.
  • Ability to coach, supervise, and mentor clinicians and support staff
  • Demonstrated ability and cultural competence in working with Maori, and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Clinical experience working in mental health and addiction services
  • A current full New Zealand driver's license
  • A current New Zealand first aid certificate, or be prepared to obtain
