**The Role | Mo tenei turanga mahi**
This Occupational Therapist (OT) role is based in our Acute Alternative Hutt Day service which provides an alternative care option to traditional hospital settings for people in mental distress, with high mental health support needs
***Some of your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:***- Deliver whanau-focused occupational therapy to support holistic wellbeing
- Deliver innovative, responsive, high-quality OT services
- Communicate effectively with whanau, colleagues, and other professionals
- Provide individual and group OT interventions tailored to unique needs
- Develop and review support and goals plans with stakeholders addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing
- Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate tangata whai ora health and functional needs
**You will be working Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm, with an afterhours on-call component**

We are interested to hear from Occupational Therapists who have proven experience working with people facing mental health challenges.
You will also have:
- Current registration with the OTBNZ with a current annual practicing certificate.
- Tertiary Level 7 Occupational Therapy Qualification or equivalent.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development within OT scope of practice.
- Knowledge of mental health theory, practice, legal boundaries, and ethical concerns.
- Current full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
- Current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
- Understanding of what you need for your own wellbeing.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
