Business Development (Senior) Consultant

Own client relationships in the Wellington market

This is more than a BD role—it's about becoming a trusted advisor. You'll build long-term relationships, chase leads, confidently connect with new contacts, and work closely with delivery consultants to match the right talent with client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business across Wellington's public and private sectors
- Manage and nurture existing client relationships
- Understand client structures, roles, and hiring needs
- Proactively identify and pursue recruitment opportunities
- Work with marketing to craft compelling outreach and campaigns
- Be involved in commercial negotiations and pricing discussions
- Build a strong personal brand in-market through events and online presence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, agency recruitment or client-facing roles
- Confident making cold calls and chasing leads
- Knowledge of the machinery of government in Wellington
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinker who can connect the dots and spot opportunities
- Experience working in the IT space, or specifically in IT agency recruitment is desirable.
