Technical Graphic Designer
Linework is a management consultancy working for clients in the New Zealand electricity industry. We help our clients with the management systems and business processes they need to design, build, operate and maintain electricity assets. We also provide a range of project support services.
Linework is looking for a Technical Graphic Designer to produce artwork for a range of safety products, packaging, promotions and education campaigns. This person will ensure that the artwork meets the brief and is delivered on time. To be successful, this person must have excellent attention to detail and must be self-motivated, organised and results driven.
As a Technical Graphic Designer, this person must understand how the design will be used and the technical requirements it has to meet – and then ensure the design meets those requirements and achieves consistency between different designs.
With some of the briefs being quite technical, the role is best suited to a person who can easily travel to the Linework office in Karaka, Franklin, Auckland. While this is a casual Technical Graphic Designer position with an indicative low number of hours per week, it could lead to greater involvement in the business for the right candidate.
ResponsibilitiesDesign graphics that meet client requirements and comply with relevant standards.
Manage files to ensure they are stored in an organised way.
Provide client support with a focus on follow through with every interaction.
Provide support to the business including occasional after-hours and weekend support when necessary (for example if there is a tight deadline).
Basic QualificationsGood grades in secondary school.
Tertiary qualification preferred.
Preferred Skills and Experience1+ years of experience in graphic, web, product, packaging and/or signage design.
Excellent Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop skills.
Understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Highly skilled at producing artwork files for a range of printing processes.
Website building including ecommerce websites.
Excellent written, verbal and phone communications skills.
Incredibly versatile with a can-do attitude and able to work out a way to get things done.
