Health Improvement Practitioner
Tu Ora Compass Health is one of the largest PHOs in New Zealand, with a Practice Network of 63 General Practices, serving an enrolled population of over 380,000 patients. Tu Ora also holds various contracts, offering clinical services, health promotion and community health services across Wellington City, Porirua, Kapiti, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.
We’re looking for a Health Improvement Practitioner to join our team in Wellington. You’ll work in our GP clinics, helping people with mental and physical health support. You'll use our Behavioural Health Consultancy (BHC) model to provide tailored care, and act as a link between GPs, peer health coaches, and community support workers.
What You'll Do:- Provide brief psychological interventions (e.g., Focused Acceptance and
- Commitment Therapy (FACT)).
- Run evidence-based group programs to support health and well-being.
- Work with the GP team to promote mental health and addiction
- Develop and improve group pathways for the community’s health needs.
- A post-graduate qualification that allows you to provide therapeutic
- Registration with a relevant health body under the Health Practitioners
- Experience working with clients in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic models, especially brief
- interventions.
- A genuine passion for talking therapies.
