  • What you'll do This role offers the opportunity to apply health economics expertise to policy to improve health outcomes for New Zealanders.

As a Policy Analyst, you'll contribute rigorous economic analysis and advice to support evidence'based decision'making across the Ministry.

Working collaboratively with policy, clinical and sector partners, you'll help shape policy, legislation and programmes while embedding equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations in all aspects of your work.

Provide health economics input and analysis to support the development of policy documents, legislation, regulations, guidelines and ad hoc advice.Ensure quality and robustness of advice, peer'reviewing work with a focus on the appropriate use of economic principles, evidence and consistency.Support project delivery, monitoring and evaluation, contributing to project planning, performance monitoring, reporting and post'implementation reviews.Contribute specialist health economics expertise to key work programmes, supporting effective implementation through collaboration across teams, directorates and the wider sector.Embed equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations in all work, while building strong relationships and contributing to continuous improvement of tools, processes and frameworks.

  • What you'll bring An undergraduate degree specialising in economics and, ideally a post-graduate qualification,Relevant knowledge and experience in health economics or policy analysis, at a level appropriate to the role.Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, use initiative and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.Proven critical thinking and judgement, able to develop options and provide clear, evidence'based advice.Excellent communication and relationship'building skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.Ngā hua o tō mātou whare
