Bring your leadership skills and technical expertise to Milford Sound Tourism Ltd. As Maintenance Department Lead, you’ll combine hands-on work with strategic planning to keep our world-class facilities running smoothly and our wilderness pristine.
Milford Sound Tourism is the tourist infrastructure provider in Milford Sound and at Knobs Flat. We own and operate the harbour, wharves, visitor terminal, coach parking and carparking in Milford Sound. In addition to this we also operate wastewater plants, a hydroelectric scheme in the Eglington Valley, and the rubbish and recycling systems, ensuring this pristine wilderness is kept just that, pristine.
Our awesome diverse and motivated operations team have the privilege of living and working in Fiordland National Park, at a community base in Piopiotahi Milford Sound.
What you’ll do:- Lead and mentor a team of committed and keen people.
- Hands on practical work building, plumbing, repairs
- Plan and deliver maintenance and construction projects.
- Ensure health and safety excellence across all operations.
- Manage contractors, resources, and schedules.
- Provide technical expertise for building and infrastructure repairs.
- Qualified builder, carpenter, joiner, plumber, or similar trade.
- Experience in building maintenance and project management from design to execution.
- Leadership and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in remote and isolated environments.
- Current full driver’s license.
