From the installation and calibration of cutting-edge health technologies to ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards, this role blends technical expertise with hands-on problem-solving, directly impacting patient outcomes.You'll support healthcare teams by maintaining and troubleshooting life-saving medical devices, providing advice on equipment safety, and ensuring regulatory standards are met.

If you're a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for improving patient care, we want you on our team!View position description Key responsibilities: Install, commission, and ensure safe operation of new medical equipment, following regulatory requirements and industry protocolsPerform calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure equipment meets performance and safety standardsSupport the development of maintenance plans and provide emergency response for urgent equipment issuesProvide quality assurance, maintaining records, conducting inspections, and ensuring equipment reliabilityCollaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff, offering guidance on medical technology management and complianceInvestigate equipment malfunctions and support safety incident analysis About youYou're a proactive and skilled professional, equipped with both the technical know-how and the communication abilities to make an impact in a healthcare setting.

You'll actively contribute to the delivery of excellent patient care by ensuring medical equipment is safe, reliable, and functioning at its best.Essential qualifications and attributes:Proven basic engineering skills and the ability to execute outlined tasks competentlyNZQA level 7 engineering qualification or equivalent practical experienceRegistered as an Electrical Appliance Serviceperson with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB)Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressureExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesA keen eye for detail and a commitment to patient safetyAbility to engage with diverse stakeholders, including clinical staff and vendorsEnglish proficiency (minimum IELTS 6.0) and a current driver's licenseDesired experience and attributes:Experience in medical equipment or clinical engineering supportPrevious work in the medical industry, especially in equipment servicing or repairDemonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships across sectorsStrong drive to deliver results with a focus on outcomes and continuous improvement Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand
