Company Accountant
Key finance role partnering closely with the Finance Manager

Based in Lower Hutt and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Company Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across BDT and its associated entities. This is a hands on, end to end accounting role with responsibility across management reporting, tax compliance, fixed assets, reconciliations and operational finance support.
Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs
- Deliver quarterly and annual financial statements for associated companies
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and audit workpapers
- Manage GST, RWT, FBT and provisional tax obligations
- Support annual budgeting and provide ad hoc financial analysis
- Oversee supplier payment runs for associated entities
- Monitor cashflow and debtor performance, providing proactive insights
- Assist with audit queries, stock take and Statistics NZ returns
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and NZ tax legislation
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting
- Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent
- Strong understanding of NZ IFRS and New Zealand tax legislation
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using Xero
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of outcomes
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy
- A passion to improve efficiencies in a growing business
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Please note this position is fully onsite and based in Lower Hutt.
