Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Team Leader, HR Applications on a permanent, full-time basis. We are seeking an experienced systems leader who can shape delivery through robust, reliable, and operationally aligned HRIS and payroll systems.This is a unique opportunity to lead a skilled team and collaborate across digital and HR functions to deliver operational excellence.
The salary range for this role is $130,390 to $168,740 (Band 18) per annum.
Key responsibilities include the following:- Lead the operational management, security, and performance of HRIS and payroll systems
- Collaborate with Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions, Finance, and Strategy and Planning teams to ensure system integration and data accuracy
- Manage configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of systems such as Oracle HCM, and aPay
- Resolve complex software issues and implement compliance tools
- Lead prioritisation and change processes for system enhancements
- Provide expert input into strategic projects and ensure alignment with University goals
- Set performance objectives and build team capability through coaching and development
- Promote health, safety, and wellbeing practices within the team

We are looking for an operational and collaborative team leader with:- the proven ability to lead and supervise technical teams and deliver outcomes through change
- demonstrated technical experience of over five years at a senior level supporting complex applications, such as Oracle Cloud and aPay, and services relating to HR and Payroll
- expertise in system configuration, testing, and implementation
- strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- experience working with external vendors and internal ICT teams.
