An emphasis will be on operating and maintaining equipment and assisting operating staff in the filling and seaming area. A thorough knowledge of good manufacturing process relating to export food manufacturing is required. An affinity and experience with technologically advanced food processing and packaging equipment is also essential, along with a hands-on attitude.

New Zealand Riverland Foods Limited is a new business which contract manufactures high meat content canned food for cats and dogs throughout the world. The company sources the highest quality meat ingredients from throughout the South Island.Our high-volume canning facility utilises the latest petfood production techniques and equipment, resulting in a modern approach to pet nutrition.
We create and produce custom recipes for clients in North America, Asia, and Australasia. Our new production facility incorporates the latest automation technology, ensuring optimal efficiency to meet the highest customer demands. Key Responsibilities- Active involvement in the Health & Safety programme of the site.
- Operate and monitor can filler and can seaming machine during daily production.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on the canning and seaming lines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machine issues, including working with international suppliers for remote technical support.
- Monitor product fill levels, seam integrity, and product quality standards during production.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement.
- Support safe and hygienic operations including cleaning of lines, pumps, tanks, and surrounding areas.
- Collaborate with production and QA teams to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Provide hands-on training and ongoing support to other production staff on the safe and correct operation of canning and seaming equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement and training initiatives
- At proven track record in a food manufacturing environment of at least 3 years.
- A qualification, or significant experience in engineering or field related to food manufacturing
- Significant experience with can filling and seaming.
- A commitment to continuous improvement of food safety, quality, and production systems.
- An ability to maintain and repair hi tech processing equipment.
- Attention to detail with clear and accurate documentation skills.
- A disciplined and proactive approach to timelines and compliance procedures
