Chef de Partie - Christchurch
Zodiac is located in the heart of the central city on Oxford Terrace overlooking the iconic Avon river. We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to support our highly experienced chefs who have consistently developed and refined our dishes over time while still keeping the signatures that Zodiac is well known for.
Key tasks, duties and responsibilities- Maintain standards of food preparation by following company recipe manual
- Manage a particular area in the kitchen assigned by head chef
- Monitor stock levels and process orders with suppliers as required and ensure meeting food costs. Establish correct orders were received and communicate with suppliers of any discrepancies
- Maintain standards of food and kitchen hygiene
- Ensure stock is kept under optimum conditions and rotated accordingly
- Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Appropriate training and leadership of new kitchenhands and junior chefs
This position requires the ability to work in a fast paced restaurant and to communicate well with all areas of the organisation. You will be required to have at least three years of relevant experience working in a commercial fast paced Asian inspired kitchen and work nights and weekends.
The position is a permanent, full time with a minimum 30 hours per week and pay is between $26-$32 per hour.
