Blue Room Restaurant & Bar – Pahiatua (Manawatū–Whanganui)

Pay Rate: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Blue Room Restaurant & Bar is a popular dine-in venue located in the heart of Pahiatua, serving a variety of quality meals prepared fresh every day. We are currently seeking experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and cooking meals according to our menu, recipes, and quality standards
• Ensuring all food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards are maintained
• Managing food preparation, portion control, and presentation during service
• Assisting with stock management, including checking and storing supplies
• Operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintaining cleanliness in all food preparation and storage areas
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including during busy periods

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience, or NZ register level 4 or higher relevant culinary qualification
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet service deadlines
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Availability to work on a rotating roster, including weekends
• Strong work ethic and a commitment to high-quality food preparation

Hours of Work:

The business operates 7 days a week from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The successful applicant must be available for rostered shifts, including evenings and weekends. Minimum guaranteed hours are 30 hours per week.
