Join us!! - Chef de Partie/Cafe Baker

We're on the hunt for a talented Chefs de Parties or Baker to join our kitchen team at Flo & Co, a buzzing, locally-loved café in the heart of Kaikoura. These are permanent positions with a start date ASAP. Flo & Co is a NZ Accredited Employer.

• This is a permanent position with a pay rate between $30-$35 PH
• Minimum of 35 hours in winter and 40 hours in summer
• As a Chef de Partie/Baker, you will be responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen, including baking and making cabinet food, there is also daily catering lunch boxes that are delivered so a valid drivers license is required. You will oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensure high standards, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and uphold all health and safety regulations.
• The café is super seasonal—it hums during the summer months but slows down in winter.
• The position requires weekend work and availability during school holidays, with flexibility to be discussed.

• A Diploma in cookery (or equivalent) and/or at least 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen preferably as a Chef de Partie or Baker in a fast-paced café or restaurant
• A genuine passion for food and high standards of presentation
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and add to our positive team culture
• Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and stock control
• A flair for fresh thinking and a drive to keep the menu exciting
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
• Extra points if you have written your resume yourself rather than chat GTP
