Sous Chef
We are a Country Hotel, located in the beautiful Waikaia River Valley at Waikaia, 60km north of Gore. The surrounding district is a recreational playground for the outdoors with hunting, fishing and golfing, gold mining, hiking and kayaking all on the doorstep.
Waikaia is a quiet village of 100 people that swells on weekends as holiday makers fill the many holiday homes or the busy camping ground. The strong country community is built around sport and recreation and provides enviable facilities to support the family.
We run a very busy kitchen with focus on providing good dining experiences. Our popularity and growth means we now are looking to employ a Sous chef, to complement our head Chef. The Sous chef would have the opportunity to "step up" when needed.
This role has a 30 / 50 hour week depending on winter or summer trade.
This is a full time permanent position with holidays during the winter months.Some initial accommodation is available for the successful applicant if needed.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
We are looking for somone with 1 year relevant work experience and industry training.
