Liddington Electrical Southern – Queenstown-Lakes, Otago
Full-time, Permanent (must have current New Zealand electrical registration)
We’re looking for a capable Senior Electrician / Project Lead to join our team at Liddington Electrical Southern.
This is a senior role suited to someone who is confident on the tools, able to lead others, and ready to take ownership of projects from planning through to delivery and handover.
You’ll be working across high-end residential builds, architectural homes, renovations, smart home systems, AV, networking, security, solar, heat pumps and general residential electrical work.
This is not just another “turn up and pull cable” role. We’re looking for someone who can help drive jobs forward, support junior staff, communicate well with builders and clients, and work closely with the Director, Office Manager and Site Manager to keep projects organised and moving.

About the role
You’ll be involved in:- Running your own projects
- Leading electricians and junior staff on site
- Helping train and support apprentices/juniors
- Planning work before jobs start
- Reviewing drawings, job information and site requirements
- Coordinating materials, labour and project needs
- Working with builders, clients, suppliers and the wider team
- Maintaining quality control and tidy site standards
- Helping with quoting information and job scope details
- Feeding back site information to the office and Director
- Helping ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard
You’ll work alongside the Director, Office Manager and Site Manager as part of the wider leadership team, helping oversee projects and support electricians and junior staff across the business.
There is also room for the right person to move into more hybrid or off-tools responsibilities over time, including estimating support, pre-job planning, job documentation, project coordination and general operational support.

About you
You’ll ideally be someone who:- Is a NZ or Australian registered electrician
- Has strong residential electrical experience
- Has experience leading staff or is ready to step into a leadership role
- Can run jobs and take ownership without needing constant direction
- Is confident dealing with builders, clients, suppliers and team members
- Takes pride in tidy, high-quality work
- Can think ahead, plan work and solve problems
- Is organised with job information, materials and site requirements
- Enjoys supporting apprentices and junior staff
- Wants to be involved in more than just tools-on work
- Is interested in growing into quoting, planning, coordination or management support
Experience with high-end residential, smart homes, AV, networking, security, solar or heat pumps would be an advantage, but attitude, leadership and workmanship are just as important.
