Position Overview:

As a sous chef (2IC) with George Hospitality, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking a diverse range of dishes, help maintaining a smooth kitchen operation, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. Taking charge when the head chef is not on, maintaining prep levels and helping build the success of our business or kitchen Your creativity and passion for food will shine through in every dish!

Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and standards

Assist with food prep such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen equipment
Follow all food safety guidelines
Support senior Chefs during busy service periods
Properly store leftover food and label items for future use
Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors
Ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes
Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning as needed
Work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
Maintain the standard of our kitchen while the head chef is not there

What We’re Looking For: Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role

Knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety regulations
Strong organizational skills and time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Creativity and a passion for food
Excellent communication skills
Culinary degree or certification preferred
