Scientific Customer Service Representative
Do you have a science background, a passion for customer service and a flair for communication?
Alphatech Systems are currently looking for a Scientific Customer Service Representative to join their close-knit team based at their head office in Ellerslie.
This position blends technical sales and service support, quoting and order processing, electronic promotions, and cross-functional collaboration with our sales, service, and logistics teams.
What you'll be doing:
You'll work alongside one other Customer Service team member to support our wider sales and service operations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Responding to customer inquiries - upselling where appropriate, and managing order processing and tracking
- Providing advice on product lines aligned with your scientific background
- Assisting sales representatives with quotes, product information, tender coordination, and follow-ups
- Creating and distributing electronic product promotions
- Supporting service and logistics teams with tasks such as customer and supplier database management, service bookings, and sharing warehouse backup
What we're looking for:
- A BSc in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related scientific field OR
- Experience in a laboratory, technical customer service, or sales/marketing role within the science sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office,
- Familiarity with desktop publishing tools and social media platforms
- A quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems (including technology) and processes
