**Korero mo te turanga - About the role**
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kaituki Whakahaere - Team Leader, Administration to join the Mauri Ora Support Team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Our busy team supports the University’s Student Health and Student Counselling services, also known as Mauri Ora. Based in our Kelburn clinic, the role will be responsible for leading and supervising the team of Kaitaupua - Mauri Ora Coordinators.The role will work closely with the Business Manager.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading, developing and coaching the team of Kaitaupua - Mauri Ora Coordinators.
- Managing, coordinating and reviewing the administrative/support workflow activities across the team to deliver an efficient and effective front facing Mauri Ora service.
- Ensuring all back office administrative duties are carried out efficiently and accurately.
- Operational support to assist the wider Mauri Ora staff in performing their roles efficiently and accurately. This includes, but not limited to, IT issues, first level practice management system issues, building and maintenance requests etc.
- Deputizing for the Business Manager in times of absence.

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative and have excellent people skills to maintain a high standard of service to both students and staff. You will be a highly organised self-starter and have an excellent ability to adapt to changes.
A strong set of self-management skills is essential to thrive in this role as well as providing positive leadership to a high performing administrative team. You will need effective time management and be able to juggle multiple priorities and demands that are often competing.The ability to remain calm under pressure is essential.
This role is busy, challenging, extremely rewarding and interesting for the individual with the right temperament.
Key requirements:
- Experience in team leadership.
- Sound business administration acumen and knowledge of core functions and administrative processes and good practice; including planning and the development and improvement of operating policies and guidelines.
- Good working familiarity and the ability to learn new systems including Microsoft Office desktop suite, customer service management systems and other systems related to health service provision.
- Experience in working effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Knowledge of call centre processes.
