Logistics Planner - Administrator

Are you looking for a challenging position with a tight-knit small team?

We are seeking someone to fill a part time role as a logistics planner and administrator. This is a job share position with time evenly split between administrative duties and logistics planning. This is a pivotal role in the business and the successful candidate will have a diverse range of responsibilities all focused on looking after he needs of our customers and contractors.

Planning key responsibilities include :

Liaising with dispatchers to ensure fleet capacity is sufficient to meet our customers transport demands. You will allocate loads to trucks always ensuring that the trucks are maximising their load capacity in both length and weight, and answer any customer’s queries that get passed on.

Ideal Skills & Attributes:

  • Sound knowledge of North Island
  • Practically minded with the ability to think logically e.g.
o Load size vs load route
o Route selection- what, where, when
  • Manage changing priorities while keeping the big picture in mind
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Manage customer expectations
  • Can work as part of a team

Administrative key responsibilities include:

Provide a supporting role to the planning team along with, data entry, account management, and timely reporting to carriers and shareholders. This is a dynamic role with a wide range of tasks all focused on supporting and assisting the core business functions.

Ideal Skills & Attributes:
  • Efficient data entry skills with intermediate knowledge of Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills
  • Have a good standard of English in both written and oral applications
  • Organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and be able to bounce between tasks
  • Take ownership and responsibility for all tasks given
  • Have integrity and the ability maintain confidentiality
  • Be flexible with duties and be happy to help where required

Monday 8.30 to 5.00
