This role is vital to the mentalhealth of our children and young people across the West Coast, and you will besupporting them through their journey along with their whanau.

This rolewill include working within the community and within our integrated model ofcare.

There will be opportunities and support for professionaldevelopment and ongoing role development.About YouExpert leadership and management knowledge with excellent clinical skillsPassion for Child & Adolescence Mental Health, exceptional interpersonal & communication skills.Understanding and application of the principles of the treaty of Waitangi, with a culturally safe and appropriate approach to practiceCommitment to ongoing professional developmentA strong understanding of Māori health inequity and Māori population needUnderstanding of contemporary approaches to mental health and wellbeingClean & full drivers licence as you will be traveling in DHB carsResponsibilities include:Ensures that all registered staff practice is safe, legal, effective and responsive to the needs of the patients.Develops an environment, which places a responsibility and authority for decision making at the level closest to the situation.Understands and practises the principles of quality management and continuous improvement.

Demonstrates effective management of complaints, incidents and hazards as per policies and procedures.Provides client-centred care, utilising evidence-based treatment strategies including, where appropriate, talking therapiesCoordinate care at the right time with input from external providersUndertakes all components of case management, including: comprehensive assessment, risk assessment and management, recovery, and treatment planningAbout youSkills and experienceTo be successful in this role it is essential you havethe following:Registered with the NZ Nursing Council with the scope to practice within Mental Health with a current Nursing Council of NZ Practising Certificate.

Or Registered Health Professional with current registration and scope to work in Mental HealthHolds post graduate management or Nursing qualification or working towards this.Minimum of 3 years of post-registration experience with recognised clinical experience/expertiseA commitment to staff development and research-based practice and a commitment to relevant professional development.Excellent interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution across all disciplines and occupational groups.Understanding of financial management in an operational area.Working at Health NewZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Orais dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
