Our client is a well-regarded earthmoving company located in the Kapiti region, and they are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic. This is a permanent role and we are looking for a suitable applicant to work for this fantastic company.

About the role:

• Working in a well-known, Kiwi owned, supportive, and reputable business.
• Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week normally worked from Monday to Friday. However you may be required to work the occasional Saturday.
• $33-$40 per hour depending on experience
• Relevant qualification will be an advantage

What you need to be successful in this role:

• You must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Motivated with a good team attitude
• A solutions person with a can-do approach
• Keen for some good hours
• The ability to work to high standards with a motivated attitude
• Knowing, understanding, communicating, and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements, and company safety policies and procedures.

Duties Involve:

• Daily repairs and maintenance of the fleet and other equipment
• When required assist the wider workshop team and
• On occasion supervision and training of apprentices may be required

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A clean driver’s licence (a Class 2 licence will be an advantage)
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• A strong ability to get the job done and be a self-starter
• An ability to work independently and as part of an established team
• An excellent attendance record
• A sense of humour
