Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Mills Albert Limited are looking for an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team on the Kapiti Coast. The team prides itself on delivering effective and timely maintenance and repair services to plant and machinery across our group of companies. Our attention will be grabbed if you can highlight the following:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a diesel mechanic working with heavy machinery and commercial vehicles
- Trade qualification (e.g., NZ Certificate in Heavy Diesel Engineering or equivalent)
- In-depth knowledge of heavy diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, pneumatic components, and general mechanical repair
- Licensing: Full New Zealand driver's license (Class 2), with the ability to drive heavy vehicles if required (Class 4 or 5 preferred).
- Diagnostic Skills: Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Field Service: Experience in providing field service, including working independently and remotely in various outdoor environments, capability to travel and stay away on the rear occasion.
- Operator interaction: Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in a clear and professional manner.
- Specialised Equipment Experience: Experience with specific equipment brands or systems (e.g., CAT, Sumitomo, Hitachi, Volvo, Scania, Hino, etc.).
You must also be a top-notch team player, have brilliant time management skill, be adaptable, have good physical stamina and be prepared to think wider than yourself, when representing the company and division.
You must be a NZ resident or be legally able to work in New Zealand.
