A Cook
Busy Chinese Restaurant situated in Balmoral Auckland is looking for a Cook to join our team. You will be rostered to work at least 30 hours per week for this busy role, full-time position, immediate start.
To be considered suitable for this position, you must:
Have at least 1 year working experience
Have a sound knowledge of Chinese cuisine recipes; Be able to operate Chinese cooking tools, such as a wok and knife; Understand various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures; Be able to introduce and design new dishes and be dedicated to controlling food quality; Have a solid understanding of health & safety regulations, as well as food handling; Be available on weekends and public holidays; Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good communication skills and team spirit; Qualification in cookery and high level of Leadership skills will be real advantage, but not essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in Creating, planning and pricing the menus for the restaurant.
Assist in preparing the dishes on the restaurant menu, including, Seafood dishes, variousCasserole Dishes, BBQ and Roast, Vegetables, chicken, pork, beef and special orders.
Assist in developing the new dishes and menu development for the restaurant.
Provide safe, eye-appealing, properly flavored food.
Carry out the preparation, seasoning, and cooking following the menu.
Participate in cooking and the preparation of foods.
Properly arrange the freeze and frozen good storage.
Ensure the kitchen is kept in a sage and hygienic manner at all time.
May participate in checking of all purchased supplies for quality and account for each
delivered item.
