Dairy Farm Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team on a well-established dairy farm milking ~1000 cows near Otane, Central Hawke's Bay.
25–30 hours per week, with opportunities to develop your farming skills.
This role involves assisting with the day-to-day running of the farm, including:- Milking duties as part of the roster
- General farm maintenance, including fencing and repairs
- Assisting with grazing management and feeding of stock
- Assisting with calf rearing and general animal husbandry
- Basic maintenance of plant, machinery, and farm equipment
- Weed control and general farm upkeep
- Assisting with irrigation
- Is positive, reliable, practical, and motivated
- Has some practical know-how — fencing or general repairs are an advantage
- Has good stock sense and enjoys working outdoors
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Has dairy or farm experience (preferred but not essential)
- Has reliable transport to travel to and from the farm
This is a drive-in position with occasional weekend work and early starts, shared across the team.
