Kerb & Channel Finisher / Concrete Placer
We are a well-established and respected company who services clients throughout the South Island. With continual growth, we now have an opening for an experienced Kerb & Channel finisher / Placer to join our Christchurch Kerb and Concrete team.
If you are reliable, enjoy working within a team, happy to be ‘hands on’ in a physically demanding role and keen to upskill along the way, then please give us a call.
Duties include:- Moulding expansion joint and edges, using edging tools, jointers and straightedge
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete kerb
- Operating manual or power screed for making hand pour concrete
- Mixing cement, sand and water to produce concrete, grout or slurry, using hoe, trowel, tamper scraper, or concrete mixing machine
- Laying string between refreshing points and spraying paint along string to form kerb to kerb machine guide marks
- Selecting and installing specified kerb forming dye
- Pushing the float on concrete kerb to finish at a high standard
- MUST keep good health and be Physically Fit to perform the tasks involved
- Hold & maintain a clean & current Class 1 License (or be prepared to train & obtain).
- Punctual & available to work long days
- Willing to learn & ‘muck in’ as required
- Safety Conscious (Must remain Drug & Alcohol Free).
- Able to follow instructions (& communicate when unsure).
- A very competitive hourly rate (paid weekly)
- All PPE
- Ongoing training as required (including assistance with obtaining licenses)
